Pre-existing conditions coverage
  • Up to age 59: covers pre-existing conditions stable in 3 months prior to the effective date
  • Age 60 and above: Covers pre-existing conditions stable in 6 or 3 months prior to the effective date. The stability period of 3 or 6 months is determined based on your answers to the medical questionnaire.

Exclusions to the coverage of pre-existing conditions apply. See further details in the policy wording.

Hospital accommodation

Reasonable and customary expenses for the semi-private room

Prescription drugs

Covers prescribed drugs if required for the emergency medical treatment

Follow-up visits

Travel insurance covers claims arising from sudden and unexpected situations (i.e., accidents and emergencies) and typically not follow-up or recurrent visits

Private duty nurse

Reasonable and customary expenses for licensed private duty nurse while your stay in hospital

Ground or air transportation

Reasonable and customary charges for a local licensed ambulance service

Accidental dental
  • Up to $300 for services to relieve dental pain, and
  • Up to $3,000 to repair or replace natural or permanently attached artificial teeth when you suffer an accidental blow to the mouth.

Laboratory tests & diagnostic services

Lab and diagnostics services for emergency medical treatment are covered ONLY if pre-approved by the assistance center. In the event of an emergency you or someone on your behalf call the Assistance Centre immediately before taking emergency medical treatment.

Medical Appliances

The lesser cost to rent or purchase a wheelchair, hospital bed, brace, crutch, and other medical appliances

Health professional services

Up to $70 per visit to a combined maximum of $700 for services by a licensed chiropractor, osteopath, physiotherapist, chiropodist, or podiatrist

Return of deceased/ Cremation or burial
  • Covers costs to return your body home in the standard transportation container used by the airline plus $5,000 to prepare your body to transport in case of death.
  • The costs to return your ashes home, plus up to $5,000 to cremate your body where you die, including the cost of a standard urn.
Transportation to bedside

In case you are hospitalized for 3 or more days and travelling alone then we cover the following to bring someone to your bedside:

  • Return economy-class airfare on the most cost-effective Itinerary
  • Up to $1,000 for their hotel and meals
  • Emergency medical insurance for them under the same terms and conditions of this policy until you are medically fit to return home
Out-of-pocket expenses

When you are hospitalized for 48 hours or more, out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed such as phone calls, TV rental, and parking fees. We pay up to $50 per day to a maximum of $500. You must provide original receipts for all expenses.

Automatic extensions

Coverage is automatically extended if:

  • If your common carrier is delayed, we will extend your coverage for up to 72 hours.
  • If you or your travel companion have an emergency that prevents travel but does not require hospitalization, we will extend your coverage for up to 5 days.
  • If you or your travel companion are hospitalized on your return date, we will extend coverage during hospitalization and for up to 5 days after hospital discharge.
Policy cancellation/ Refund
  • You may cancel your policy at any time before your departure date.
  • You may also request a premium refund for your unused days when:
    • You return home early and have not started a claim or had any cause for a claim; and
    • All travelers insured under the same policy return home together.

These are the travel insurance Canada plans with a wide range of benefits such as coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, misconnection, delayed return, emergency medical assistance, baggage loss, and travel and flight accidents. Paclage Tour – Plan E

Package Tour includes (per insured):

  • Trip Cancellation: covers up to the Covered Amount PRIOR to departure (as provided by you at the time of purchasing plan) and unlimited After Departure coverage. 

  • Up to $5,000,000 Emergency Medical coverage. (learn more)

  • Up to $1,000 Baggage Loss or Damage.

  • Up to $500 Baggage Delay.

  • Up to $100 Lost or stolen passport, driver’s license, birth certificate or travel visa.

  • Up to $50,000 Travel Accident.

  • Up to $100,000 Flight Accident.

Covered amount prior to departure: This amount is provided by you (insurance buyer) that he/she wants to be covered prior to departure. For example, you purchased air ticket of $2,000 and want $2,000 to be covered in case of trip cancellation prior to your departure.

Note: In case of trip cancellation this plan covers up to the covered amount for unused travel travel arrangements paid for prior to departure, that are non-refundable & non-transferable to another travel date. (conditions apply *)

Separate Plans

Plan A – Trip cancelation, interruption, misconnection and delayed return coverage plan

Trip cancellation coverage starts at the time of policy purchased and trip interruption, misconnection & delayed return coverage starts on effective date of policy. There are three options available in Plan A for your convenience:

  •  Plan A – “$800 AD (After Departure)”: covering the Covered Amount PRIOR to departure (as provided by you at the time of purchasing plan) and $800 AFTER departure.

  • Plan A – “$1500 AD (After Departure)”: covering the Covered Amount PRIOR to departure (as provided by you at the time of purchasing plan) and $1500 AFTER departure.

  • Plan A – “Unlimited AD (After Departure)”: covering the Covered Amount PRIOR to departure (as provided by you at the time of purchasing plan) and unlimited coverage AFTER departure.

Plan B – Emergency medical coverage plan

  • Emergency medical plan covers you for the actual expenses incurred by you up to a maximum of $5,000,000 as a result of medical emergency during your trip only if these expenses are not covered under government health coverage or any other benefit plan.

  • Three types of medical insurance rates are available Basic, Preferred and Standard.

    • Basic: Coverage is for person under age 60 travelling for any period or age 60 to 74 travelling 30 days or less and no medical questionnaire is required. 

    • Preferred & Standard: For the ages above 60 years travelling for more than 30 days.

  • Following is the list of medical benefits under emergency medical plan​ provided by Plan B and Plan E:

Extra expenses If medical emergency prevents you to return home or forces you to stay at location other than destination you originally planned we provide some coverage for your meals, hotel, phone calls and taxi.
