- You are a student enrolled full-time or part-time in a school in Canada but participating in an exchange program at a school outside of your province/territory of residence; and,
- You are not travelling against a physician or other registered medical practitioner’s advice; and,
- You have not been diagnosed with a terminal condition; and,
- You are not receiving palliative care or palliative care has not been recommended.
Applicable to Family Members of Students
At the time of application, you are eligible for coverage if:
- You are at least 15 days old; and,
- You are 40 years and under; and,
- You are a Canadian resident; and,
- You are a family member of a student who is either insured under a TuGo Student Policy for Canadian students or meets the eligibility requirements for a TuGo Student Insurance Policy; and,
- You are not travelling against a physician or other registered medical practitioner’s advice; and,
- You have not been diagnosed with a terminal condition; and,
- You are not receiving palliative care or palliative care has not been recommended.
Note: If you have already left your home country (for international students) or your province/territory of residence (for Canadian students) at the time you are purchasing this insurance, and you have sought treatment since your departure and/or you are currently experiencing any symptoms that are new or worsening, there is no coverage with respect to the medical condition or symptom, related condition or symptom, or for any subsequent treatment related to the condition or symptom, except as specified in the policy wording under the Maternity benefit and under the heading Period of Coverage, sub-heading Top-up.
