You are NOT eligible for visitor to Canada medical insurance coverage if:
 

  • you are traveling against the advice of a physician;

  • you have been diagnosed with a terminal illness with less than two (2) years to live;

  • you have been diagnosed with or received treatment within the last two (2) years for pancreatic, lung, brain, or liver cancer; or any type of cancer that has spread from one part or organ of the body to another (metastatic cancer);

  • you have had or are waiting for an organ or bone marrow transplant (excluding corneal transplant);

  • you have a kidney condition requiring dialysis;

  • you have used home oxygen during the 12 months prior to the date of application;

  • you reside in a nursing home, other long term care facility or rehabilitation centre; and/or

  • You are age 86 or older (unless buying the Basic Plan)

Pre-existing medical conditions are the sickness, disease, injury exists for which you are taking medication or prescribed medication or treatment by physician in 180 days before your effective date on insurance policy. Some examples of pre-existing medical conditions are BP, Heart, Diabetes, Lung, Cholesterol, etc.

I have pre-existing medical conditions. Am I covered by visitor to Canada medical insurance?

  • Age 55 or less: if you are 55 or less then pre-existing medical conditions are covered by our enhanced insurance policy provided these conditions are stable in the last 180 days. Stable pre-existing condition means that no new symptoms or change in in symptoms have appeared, existing symptoms have not become worse and your physician have not recommended any new medication or new treatment (more details can be found in the policy wordings). 

  • Age between 56 and 85: You are required to complete a medical declaration form to verify your eligibility to cover pre-existing medical conditions if you are buying Enhanced insurance policy. Our online application process will ask you to complete medical declaration form. 

Medical Declaration Form

We provide Basic, Standard and Enhanced plans for visitor to Canada medical insurance. Each of these plans provide several coverage and deductable options. 

Coverage: 

  • Visitors on super visa are required to buy medical coverage for at least $100,000 for one (1) year. 

  • We provide several coverage options for visitors: $15,000, $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, $150,000 and $200,000. Our customers get premium rates for each of these coverage options from basic, standard and enhanced plans when they get free quote from our website. 

  • Monthly payment plan is available if you are buying visitor visa medical insurance with $100,000 or more coverage for one (1) year.

Deductables:

  • Deductible is the amount paid out of your pocket before an insurance provider will pay any expense. 

  • We provide different deductable options and the corresponding reduction in insurance cost when you purchase insurance with us. 

  • Deductables ranging from $0 to $10,000 are available. 

  • Deductable $2,500 is applicable only to Standard & Enhanced Coverage options $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000 for the age up to 85.

Premium Refund or Policy Cancellation:

  • 100% premium refund or policy cancellation is available in case of visitor visa refusal. Request for premium refund will only be considered when proof of visa refusal will be provided.

  • In case of change of your stay in Canada you can request for partial refunds on premium. Partial refund request is considered ONLY if you provide proof of return to your country of origin and there NO claim paid or denied.

  • If you are applying for partial refund and a claim has been paid or denied then you may apply for have such claim(s) withdrawn. The amount of claim(s) paid will be deducted from the refund plus a file handling $300 fee will be charged.

Premium refund request: 

  • Your written request to cancel policy MUST be received within 60 days following the date you return to your country of origin.

  • All refunds are subject to approval by 21st Century Travel Insurance Limited.

  • $25 policy administration fee will be charged for any refund request.
